Over the start of the new year, I’ve been passively trying to get the ol’ blog up to date—a lot of the content I archived wasn’t well organized, media library items got disconnected from their relevant posts, the installation itself wasn’t connecting with my IFTTT account, etc. Yet, not being a WordPress developer, or even proficient with php and SQL to be able to sufficiently troubleshoot these matters, I ultimately decided to go with an archive and wipe to be able to start with a fresh database free of all the cruft that got mixed into my previous instance by trying various themes and plugins.
In reviewing and archiving that old material, I also told myself this would be the last time I’m taking a run at this. If by year’s end I don’t find myself enjoying maintaining a blog, I’m going to just commit to offline journaling and spare myself the hosting fees.
